Alberto Broch
Alberto Ercilio Broch is a family farmer. He grows soybeans, corn, oats and other cereals, and raises cattle and pigs on an area of 90 hectares in the municipality of Alto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil). He began his union career as a counselor at the Triticale de Espumoso Cooperative, becoming President of the Federation of Agricultural Workers of Rio Grande do Sul in 1995. The following year he joined the Confederation of Rural Workers, Farmers and Farmers' Families - CONTAG as Secretary of Agricultural Policy, serving as President from 2009 to 2017. In 2005, he helped found the Confederation of Family Producers' Organizations of the Enlarged MERCOSUR - COPROFAM. Alberto currently holds the positions of President of COPROFAM, Vice President of CONTAG and Vice President of the World Rural Forum.
